It stars Vishal, Gemini, Priya Anand and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja whilst the cinematography was handled by Subramanian Sivachandran. Kathukutti is a story of a young man's search for justice that takes him into a deadly maze of politics and crime where he has to fight to save his family from misfortune. It was released on 29 May 2010.The Times of India gave the film 3 stars out of 5 and wrote, "The writing is crisp, the story line is good and director Vikraman, who is the son of veteran actor-director Sivakumar, knows how to keep his audience hooked.."
